The Gap Café is open six days a week, from 7am -2pm, and offers an incredible selection of house made pastries from Salty Roan Bakehouse (located next door), cooked to order breakfasts, big city coffees, and a variety of lunch options ranging from the Ultimate Grilled Cheese Sandwich to of course, Chicken Fried Steak –the recipe borrowed from Perini Ranch Steakhouse and made with ribeye.
The Gap Café has a great vibe, a fun staff and of course, stellar food and the best compliment came from a customer that announced, “The Gap Café is like a mixture of Austin and Paris, right here in Buffalo Gap!”

Chelsie Herje is the owner and baker at Salty Roan Bakehouse. She has been baking most of her life and attended the San Francisco Baking Institute for professional training in Artisian Bread and Viennoiserie.   Chelsie and her husband, Bart, are relatively new residents of Buffalo Gap, Texas, and she is the mom of four delightful youngsters.
